Sharing Your Faith

“Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world.”     Matthew 28:19,20 (CEV)

As we reach out to people who are already religious, but who haven't yet trusted in Jesus Christ, we must keep it simple!  They want to see first what Christian faith is all about - Issues and answers.  Going from seeker to surrender is different for everyone.

Read Romans 10:11-21  people looking for spiritual answers

How Can We Share Our Faith?

a)  We must care about seekers

Romans 9:1-3  just as Paul cared about his lost countrymen

*  our love (care) must be genuine, without a hidden agenda

*  our friendship must not be conditional

*  attend community events, -particularly those of interest to them

b)  We must pray for seekers

Romans 10:1, 9,10  pray for their salvation from sin

c)  Affirm what is positive in their lives

Romans 10:2  they have a desire to learn of your faith

*  do not focus on “do’s” and “don'ts”-   that’s focusing on the negative

*  remember they have a desire to do something, but without knowledge

d)  Speak the simple message of God’s love and grace

            Rom. 10:14   speak the message

*  we tend to think of “preaching” as something negative

*  to preach is simply to announce something publicly

Rom. 10:15 (Isaiah 52:7)  God will “send” you to speak

*  we are official representatives of the Heavenly father!

*  remember, we are ambassadors of Jesus Christ  (Matt. 28:19,20)

“Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”

John 20:21 (NLT)

Do your friends see you as a sight for sore eyes?   We must trust in the power of the message.  Faith is generated by the powerful message itself!

That message is the GOOD NEWS  of Jesus.

We must be willing as Paul was, to share it with those seekers who are our friends
