When You Don’t Feel Like Praying

“We are hedged in (pressed) on every side [troubled and oppressed in every way], but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair; 9. We are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted [to stand alone]; we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed;”     2 Cor. 4:8,9  (Amplified)

Why does it seem hardest to pray when you need it most ?

Five ways to help communicate

1)  Pray scripture back to God : Make a list of your favorite passages
            i.e.    John 3:16;   Psalms 107:20;  Galatians 2:20

2)  Keep a journal :  Write out your needs.  Identify the areas of your life that are making you feel so distant from Him. Release it all to Him

3)  Use your senses :  Find a quiet place to see, smell, taste, touch, hear as a way of stimulating a prayer.

4)  Review the day :  At the end of the day, what can you be thankful for.  Give your concerns to God.

5)  Pray over / for important items :  family, friends, home, laptop - thanking God for their relevance to you in your life.

We can see the contrast in Peter’s life and his relationship to the Lord
Luke 22:54-60
(denial of Him)  vs  Acts 2:14-41 (empowered by Him)

Change matters of care to matters of prayer

“GOD's angel sets up a circle of protection around us while we pray.”
