Becoming Teachable & Moldable

    “May the LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you!”                    Deuteronomy 1:11 NKJV

            God, in a miraculous way, preserved Moses from Pharaoh's diabolical hand of death.  Now, God prepares Moses to be the deliver of His chosen people.

I.  v. 3:7-10  God Keeps His Promise

*  for 40 years in Egypt, Moses was taught the he was somebody

*  for 40 years in the desert , he learned he was nobody

*  his next 40 years, he was God’s chosen leader of millions

*  God said, I have seen, I have heard,  I have known

v. 2-6  the miracle of the burning bush is symbolic

*  the nation Israel is going through the furnace of affliction-   i.e.

            Pharaoh,  Nebuchadnezzar,  Hitler,  Saddam,  Iran

*  the fire is a picture of the purifying nature of God

*  there was no real greatness in Moses himself

*  when touched by God, the common becomes uncommon

II.  v11-18; 4:1-5  God’s Perfect Preparation

*  notice Moses, like us, is full of excuses why he isn’t God’s man

*  I have no ability, no message, authority, eloquence, no inclination

*  God answered every excuse !

            Philippians 4:13  where God guides, He provides

* “I have no message”  I AM the message God said

*  Jesus also said He is the Great I Am, even before Abraham

*  God’s authority is in our hands, also available to us

*  His Holy Spirit is with us to guide us through every difficulty

            Philippians 2:13  God uses whomever is able and available

III.  v. 19-22  God’s Purpose Will Be Done

            Exodus 4:29-31

            2 Peter 1:3,4  His promises are ours to claim

*  How has God prepared you to serve others ?
