Living A Life That Is Built To Last

- a life that makes a mark

What kind of legacy will you leave?  Are you living the kind of life that is built to last?
“For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline.”  II Timothy 1:7 (ASV)

Read:  II Timothy 2:1-19

How ?
1) v1  Be Strong   Let yourself be strengthened (empowered)

2) v2  Entrust To Others   Pass on the message to others by service

3) v3-7  Pay The Price   Endure hardship - be willing to take the difficult road - focus on single-mindedness and self discipline

4) v8-10  Center Our Lives Around Jesus   Commit to endure
“For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. 7. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”  II Timothy 4:6-8 (NIV)

5) v 11-13,15  Don't Give Up     (v14 ‘remember’)
Notice:  if this - then that
            1) dead - live  (evidenced in our baptism)
            2) suffer - reign  (endure)
            3) deny Him - He will deny us (disown Him, apostasy)
            4) lacking trust - He is faithful  (promise of God’s faithfulness)

Completing our life’s walk does require our endurance- our endurance relies upon God’s faithfulness and His resources !

“These things I have told you are all true. I want you to insist on them so that everyone who trusts in God will be careful to do good deeds all the time. These things are good and beneficial for everyone.”  Titus 3:8  (NLT)
