Don’t Worry * Don’t Fret

“Give your way over to the Lord. Trust in Him also. And He will do it. Rest in the Lord and be willing to wait for Him. Do not trouble yourself when all goes well with the one who carries out his sinful plans.”        Psalms 37:5,7 (NLV)

“Don't worry about it”.  Easy words to say, but hard to put into practice.  Worry causes ulcers and high blood pressure.  Worry is contagious!  Worry is not simply a weakness- it is doubting God’s providence and His promises to you.

v25, THEREFORE:  (in summary)  refers to vs 19-21

            John 14:1-3  don’t let doubt enter your heart

I. v.26,28  Think Of His Greatness

            1)  behold the birds of the air
            2)  consider the flowers of the fields
            3)  see the worth of His people-  much more than they

II. v. 30-32  Trust in His Graciousness  and Wisdom

            1)  He waters the grass of the field
            2)   how much more will He attend to our needs!
            3)  don’t borrow tomorrow’s troubles today

III. v. 33,34  Trust His Warranty

            1)  don’t worry-  rather, seek, search, pursue, desire, strive for His eternal kingdom values
            2)  seek, strive for, thrust yourself into the Goodness of His rule
            3)  then all these “things” will be added to your blessings too

* trust His Goodness-  recognize His Wisdom and Grace
* a problem not worth praying about is not worth worrying about
* “Your Heavenly Father“ is used 12 times in this chapter !
