The Day Death Died
“God gave Jesus to die for our sins, and He raised Him to life, so that we would be made acceptable to God.” Romans 4:25 CEV
Jesus’ death and resurrection make us acceptable to God. God is perfect. Because of sin, you and I are not. So, how does He get imperfect people into a perfect place He made perfect? God’s perfect plan was to conquer death and sin in the “great exchange”.
“God took the sinless Christ and poured into Him our sins. Then, in exchange. He poured God’s goodness into us.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 LB

I. Death’s Birth
Romans 5:12 sin’s birth
Genesis 3:4-6 Satan’s deceit and lies birthed death
* the parent of death is sin- and the grandparent of death is Satan
* “ ....whosoever committeth sin is of the devil.” 1 John 3:8
* death then, is the greatest and strongest predator on earth!
II. Death’s Ambitious Undertakings
* because of jealousy, Cain killed his brother Abel Genesis 4:4-8
* death plays no favorites and is not prejudice in his hunt on earth
Daniel 3:6;11,12;19-25 put your trust in the God of Life
* death accompanied the guards in the Garden of Gethsemane
John 19:1-3;6 death followed Jesus to Pilate’s court
* the brutal Roman soldiers laughed as they hammered the nails
Luke 23:34-38 death even mocked Jesus at Calvary
III. The Day Death Died
* day 1) all is well- hell is laughing; day 2) still okay, no problems
day 3) Then It Happens- The day death died ! Luke 24:4-9
* “Up from the grave He arose with a mighty triumph oe’r His foes-
He arose a victor from the dark domain and He lives forever with
His saints to reign. He arose, He arose, hallelujah, Christ arose!”
