Empty Tomb - Full Life

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” 

     Romans 8:11  (NLT)

  We don’t need new clothes, bunnies, chocolate, or “Easter” eggs to celebrate Easter. The full life is available because of an empty tomb.

Three empty promises we can celebrate this Easter:

I. An Empty Life

            Philippians 2:5-7  Jesus showed us the way to be full is to be empty  of self- to be a servant

*  Empty of our own desires and to make Jesus our heart’s desire

*  Jesus emptied Himself of all life to fill yours with His

            Matthew 14:14-18  Jesus specializes in filling empty lives

II.  An Empty Cross

            John 19:30 ;  Luke 23:46   His work on earth was finished

*  The cross of Hope & Life is empty- Jesus finished His work; He isn’t there anymore

            Romans 5:18,19  by His obedience many are set free from spiritual death
            Ephesians 1:7  you are redeemed by His precious blood

*  Jesus literally emptied Himself of everything He had to offer- so we can live an abundantly full life

III.  An Empty Tomb

            Philippians 2:8,9  Jesus showed that the way to live is to die
            1 Corinthians 15:21,22  Christ has risen from the tomb
            1 Thessalonians 4:13-18  we also will one day be raised up
            Hebrews 7:24,25  He lives forever to intercede for you

       Without an empty tomb there is no Savior, no Salvation, no Hope- nothing can be said for sure.  But, because of God’s perfect plan there now can be  FULL LIFE !
