8760 “The length of our days is seventy years— or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.” Psalms 90:10 NLT
Today, most of us are very busy in our life. We’re always in such a big hurry. We walk fast, talk fast, and eat fast. We usually end our conversations with, “Gotta run”. Can we make better use of our time?
Read: Ephesians 5: 1-11 “So be very careful how you live. Do not live like those who are not wise, but live wisely. 16 Use every chance you have for doing good, because these are evil times. 17 So do not be foolish but learn what the Lord wants you to do.” Ephesians. 5:15-17 NCV
I. Our Time On This Earth Is Limited Psalms 39:4,5 the psalmist talks about the brevity of life * the span of time is age relevant- youth vs/ sunset years * because our days are numbered, we are reminded to develop a “heart of wisdom”
v.16 II. Make The Most Of Every Opportunity * why? “because the days are evil” * Jesus said that satan is a thief and a robber- to seek & destroy us * he tries to rob us of our time which is a very precious possession * think of the time wasted sinning and the time wasted worrying Isaiah 55:6,7 seek the Lord while He can be found * sometimes even doing “good” things make demands on our time * Marry, Martha & Lazaurus Luke 10: 39-42 * Martha was so preoccupied fixing the meal / didn’t recognize God * sometimes we are overloaded with commitments here & there
v.17 III. “Understand What The Will Of The Lord Is” * does God want your mind so cluttered and saturated with worries and anxieties that you can not think spiritual thoughts? * ask yourself- who or/ what is most important in my life today * hopefully your relationship with God, through Jesus Christ is! * this is what will affect my decisions, priorities, and scheduling- today and in all my relationships with others * as you purposely schedule time for Jesus, it will have a profound effect on your spiritual growth and relationship with God & others * establish your priorities and learn how to live by them today Romans 13:11,12 wake up and get busy in the Lord |
